1. Why do I need academic planning?

Giraffe Academic Planning is suitable when you need help in

  • Course selection
  • Whether or not to choose AP, SAT, or IB
  • Selecting and allocating time among extracurriculars
  • Setting and achieving goals for future university
  • Solving non-academic problems at school

 

2. When is the best grade to start academic planning?

Based on years of experience, we found that compared to their peers, students who started academic planning in Gr 8 or 9 achieve the most. Students at this age usually start to think about preparing their university applications and future majors.

 

3. What if I’m too late? Already finishing G11? What can Giraffe do to help me?

If you are already in your senior years, it may be more important to focus on improving school grades and planning out university application strategies. Check out Giraffe’s University Application Service.

 

4. My school counselor already helped me choose courses, what else can Giraffe help?

Course selection is only one of the areas we help. You may need guidance on building a personal brand and choosing extracurriculars to boost your chance of entering your dream school. Other times, you may need support in building confidence, leading a project, or creating a club. With Giraffe’s Academic Planning, we can help you with all of that.

 

5. What is Giraffe’s Mentorship Program? How does it work?

Being our academic planning student, you will be automatically enrolled in Giraffe’s Mentorship Program. This program provides students with resources on presentation skills, leadership, resume and cover letter building, emotional intelligence, and more. In addition, we offer mentorship to students and their families so that they gain support from different perspectives when they face challenges.
