Giraffe Grade 11& 12 Courses – Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the learning model at your Grade 11 and 12 programs? Do you offer small classroom learning sessions, or do you offer private classes?

We understand that having good performance results at this stage helps your children enhance their university application profiles. While both the small classroom and the private learning modules are available at Giraffe, we will include these factors into consideration – your children’s existing learning capabilities, their current in-school performance, your desired performance results, and your required turnaround period.

For students who have studied at Giraffe Learning with adequate learning skills such as time management and self-discipline, they may participate in the Giraffe Performance Booster programs with our small classroom sessions. However, for students requiring more dedication and focused learning, or for students who have short turnaround time, we strongly recommend them to participate in our private sessions.

In fact, you can fill in the Contact Us form or click here to book an appointment with us so that we can offer you private suggestions on optimizing your or your children’s learning outcomes.

2. Your Grade 11 and 12 courses contain both online and offline learning modules. Can I skip the offline classes and only attend the online ones?

Our Grade 11 and 12 courses utilize a combined online and offline learning methodology. Students will first participate in the online learning modules before the offline sessions. During the offline classes, our instructors can clarify students’ questions and problems. Meanwhile, students will strengthen their knowledge through practicing highlighted problems under our instructors’ guidance. Therefore, students need to attend both online and offline classes.

3. Teachers at different high schools teach at different paces while students’ need to ace each module test to achieve high scores. When we attend small classroom sessions, can Giraffe Learning accommodate such customization?

Yes, we can. Giraffe Learning understands this situation very well, since most of our Grade 11 and 12 students study at different paces. At Giraffe, we divide an entire subject into knowledge areas. We subdivide knowledge areas into knowledge points – with each knowledge point having its own standardized learning module. By aligning our learning modules with students’ syllabus, Giraffe Learning supports our students via customization.

4. When we attend the small classroom sessions, can Giraffe Learning help us answer problems from our school homework? Can Giraffe Learning help us prepare for exams?

Yes, we can help students with their school homework questions. Students can bring in their school assignments during the offline class session. Our instructors can help them solve the problems.

Since our online learning modules are available when students attend Giraffe Learning sessions, students can re-watch the corresponding online sessions before exams to ensure that they have sufficient knowledge. Meanwhile, our instructors can guide them to practice on featured problem sets.

As a kind reminder, Giraffe instructors must ensure classroom equality – we must make sure that all students in the same session are progressing. When students need more dedicated support for their examinations, we recommend them to participate in private sessions.

5. We want to participate in the Calculus 12 class. However, Giraffe Learning only seems to provide pre-calculus courses. Does Giraffe offer calculus as well?

We do have Calculus 12 courses, but in a slightly different format than the typical Grade 11 and 12 courses. You can fill in the Contact Us form or click here to book an appointment with us so that we can offer you personalized learning plans on your Calculus.
