Giraffe AP Courses – Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the AP curriculum? Do I have to take AP exams?

AP is the abbreviation of Advanced Placement that has a higher level of difficulty compared to regular grade 11 and 12 courses in the BC curriculum. Students who are determined to participate in the AP program must have better academic foundations, better learning skills, and stronger self-motivation. We are a tutoring centre for AP courses, so students need to enroll in the exams by themselves.

Whether or not to participate in the AP exams is a strategic question. Students who successfully complete the AP exams with excellent performances enjoy an enhanced personal profile. However, students who perform poorly on the AP exams waste their time and effort without observing any results. To find if AP exams are suitable for your children, please visit our Giraffe Forward Planning program for more details.

2. Does Giraffe Learning offer small classroom or private sessions? What kind of learning methodology does Giraffe adopt?

3. Does Giraffe Learning register AP exams on our behalf?

As a learning centre, Giraffe Learning only offers tutoring sessions and exam preparation sessions. Students must register their AP exams by themselves.

4. I am taking AP courses at school. Can I have a dedicated tutoring program for me? Can I participate in your AP Exam Prep sessions?

We can design a private learning program to accommodate your unique requests. Meanwhile, you can certainly participate in our AP Exam Preparation sessions. We will simulate the exam environment so that you can have full length, timed practices. By practicing mock and practice exams, you can notice the areas of improvement so that you can constantly correct your mistakes in order to achieve optimal results in the real exams.
